I read a fiction story in which one of the characters had a bout with depression over something she had no control over. She found a technique, joy bombing, to improve her mood. While I found the story itself to be uplifting, I cannot stop thinking about joy bombing. I want to drop this idea everywhere. I am starting here.

Change is inevitable. Our environment is constantly changing. Our physicality is constantly changing. From birth to death, we are always growing and evolving physically, cognitively, and spiritually. Even when things appear stable, subtle changes are happening. We have an opportunity before us to use this time to influence and support change toward healing, growth and wholeness. Like the expression, “change is inevitable, growth is optional”, we at RnR Therapy want to encourage growth.

Caregiving is an endless search for balance between doing too much for the care-receiver and doing too little; and finding time for personal self-care. Remember, if you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be able to care for anyone else.

What’s in a name? Butterflies don’t look like flying butter; so why do we call them butterflies? By way of a Google search I learned that different cultures had different stories; for instance, in France they are called “papillon” like parking tickets that are also yellow and flap like a butterfly when placed under a car’s windshield wiper. The Dutch use a word which describes the color of urine as a butterfly is a yellow drop that flies. The ancient Greeks associated butterflies with the soul and called them “Psyche”. The English influence comes from the word “butterfloege” named for a common yellow brimstone butterfly. It seems by naming things a story may emerge.
